Peter Halley Exploding Cell

The New York based geometric painter, Peter Halley, came to us to assist in the production of these 3D panels. Working with Peter and his team we translated his 2D drawings into 3D CAD Geometry. Through an extensive back and forth over screen sharing and various prototypes we were able to refine the geometry to match Peter’s artistic intent. Each of these panels was CNC machined out of 2 inch High Density Urethane Foam or HDU with each one taking nearly ten hours of machine time. After CNC machining, the panels we’re primed and painted in various colors by the team at Noble Finishing of Cincinnati, OH.
